Privacy Policy

style.spot is a personal styling service: you share a photo and tell us about an occasion, and we create looks for you. That only works if you trust us with personal things, your face, your name, your plans for Friday night. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and what we do (and don't do) with it.

What we collect

• Account details, your first name, email address, username, and a securely hashed password (we can't see the password itself). If you use "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email, and a Google account identifier; we never see your Google password and get no access to your Gmail, contacts, or anything else in your Google account.
• Photos you upload, the body and face photos you provide so style.spot can style you.
• Your styling brief, what you tell style.spot in chat: occasions, preferences, budget range.
• Your results, the looks, product picks, and rendered images created for you, saved so you can revisit them.
• Basic technical data, standard server logs (IP address, timestamps) used for security and keeping the service running.

How we use it

• To create your looks: your photos and brief are processed by the AI services we build on (OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic) solely to analyze coloring and fit, write your looks, and render your editorial images. Per our agreements with these providers, data sent through their business APIs is not used to train their models.
• To find real products: we search shopping sources for the pieces in your looks. Only the clothing descriptions are used in searches, never your name, email, or photos.
• To keep your account working: signing you in, remembering your saved photos and previous looks, and (soon) account recovery by email.

Affiliate links and shopping

The pieces in your looks come from independent third-party retailers, and many of the shopping links are affiliate links. When you click one, we (and our affiliate network partner, such as Sovrn Commerce) record that the click came from Style Spot so that any resulting sale can be attributed and a commission paid, at no extra cost to you. This attribution is about the click and the purchase, not about you: we don't send your name, email, or photos to retailers or affiliate networks. What we never do

• We never sell your personal information. Not your email, not your photos, not your styling history. Nobody's data is for sale here.
• We never share your contact information with third parties for their marketing.
• Your studio photos and the looks made for you stay private between you and your stylist. What you choose to publish, a post, a look, a story, a magazine edition, or your profile, is visible to other members, and to anyone on the web (including search engines) when your profile is set to public. You control that switch in your profile settings, and you can take a post down at any time.
• We don't run ads, and we don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The only things stored in your browser are your login token and a few preferences (like your Studio theme). After you click a shopping link, the retailer and the affiliate network may set their own cookies on their site, under their own privacy policies.

Working with a stylist

Stylists on Style Spot can invite you as a client. If you accept, here is exactly how photos work:

• Your photos are your property. Uploading them doesn't transfer ownership to Style Spot, and it doesn't transfer ownership to your stylist. They remain yours, always.
• Permission is explicit and specific. Your stylist can only use your photos after you grant permission, and only for one thing: creating looks for you inside Style Spot. Nothing else, nowhere else.
• You can take them back. Withdraw permission from your invitation page at any time, your photos are deleted from our servers and disappear from your stylist's studio immediately.
• Photos are optional. Prefer not to share them? Your stylist can present looks on a neutral mannequin instead. You lose nothing but the personalized rendering.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on professionally managed cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services and Neon) in the United States. Everything travels encrypted over HTTPS, media storage is private with no public access, and passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

We keep your data while your account is active so your saved photos and look history keep working. Want out? Email us and we'll delete your account and everything attached to it, photos, looks, history, the lot. Demo (guest) sessions that are never claimed may be cleaned up periodically.

Children

style.spot isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll note the new effective date at the top of this page.
